Adelaide veteran Rory Sloane wants to play on next season and help his young teammates reach a breakthrough finals campaign.
Former skipper Sloane will notch his 250th game when the Crows host GWS at Adelaide Oval on Saturday night.
After completing a successful return from a ruptured ACL this year, the 33-year-old doesn't have a deal yet for 2024 but is keen to reach a 16th season.
"I haven't really had those discussions yet. I'm well and truly aware of my age and how this sort of unfolds from when you get to this point," Sloane told reporters on Wednesday.
"That's a discussion I'll pick up shortly with the club.
"Absolutely (I’m keen to play on). I love football, I love playing for this club, I just love what I do.
"I'll continue to play until they boot me out of here and say 'we don't want you inside our four walls'."
Sloane has relished his return from injury, averaging 19.8 disposals and five tackles.
"I kept it simple, I suppose. Having that knee op certainly gave me some time to reflect on footy,' he said.
"The whole goal was just to keep it simple, come back and enjoy footy, no matter what happened."
Adelaide remain firmly in the finals mix, spearheaded by Sloane’s close friend Taylor Walker who has booted 48 goals.
The pair hope to get the Crows, who sit ninth and two points outside the eight, back into September action for the first time since their 2017 grand final loss.
“We certainly love where we’re at at the moment,” Sloane said.
“The footy the group’s playing, where we want to get to, and we certainly want to help these boys get back into some finals and contend for some finals over the years.
"Because when Tex and I look back across our 15, 16-year career, it's certainly those moments in finals that you reflect on and you love.
"I want these kids Jake Soligo, Rach (Josh Rachele), Izak (Rankine), all these kids to play some finals as well."
