Rugby league is built on rivalries and when Brisbane and Sydney Roosters clash in the NRLW grand final it will be another chapter in their own book of feuds.
For the fourth time in nine seasons, the league's two powerhouse clubs will clash in a decider, with the Broncos having the measure of the Tricolours..
The Roosters, undefeated minor premiers this year, did win the club clash 34-20 in round seven in 2026, but it's the Broncos who hold the advantage in finals footy.
Adding to the spice on Sunday's grand final day in Sydney is the fact that Broncos guns such as Tamika Upton, Julia Robinson and Romy Teitzel will join the likes of Roosters stars Jess Sergis, Olivia Kernick and Isabelle Kelly in the Australian Jillaroos side just days after the showpiece,
"They are obviously a quality outfit and any competitor likes to play those big games," Upton said after shining in her 20-8 preliminary final win over Gold Coast on Sunday.
"It is a big rivalry and it was a really good game when we matched them in the rounds. We are looking forward to it."
The Broncos beat the Roosters 34-12 in the inaugural NRLW decider and again 20-10 in the 2020 grand final.
The Roosters got one back in a 22-16 win in the semis in 2021 before claiming the first of their two titles.
Then last year the Broncos prevailed 22-18 in the grand final against the Tricolours.
This year the Broncos have rallied since their 28-20 loss to the Titans in round eight, their third defeat in a row, and have won their last five games since.
Broncos coach Scott Prince said his charges had learned plenty from the club loss against the Roosters.
"We will and we have ... but if I tell you they will find out," Prince grinned.
"They are a great team with a strong pack that are aggressive and outside backs that are very strong.
"Any half chances they crucify you. They use their power and strength to dominate teams and we have just got to go with them and get in a grind."
The Roosters will play in their sixth decider and the Broncos in their fifth, so both sides are used to the build-up and scrutiny that comes with playing on the first Sunday in October..
"Grand final week is usually hectic so we will juggle all the media and fanfare, which is great," Prince said.
"It is really important that we enjoy that but also when we do come to training to focus on the job at hand.
"It is a bit of a fun but there is a bit of business to do as well."
