Four bikie gang members have been arrested after one of the largest firearms seizures in a regional area, including dozens of guns and 3D printers capable of making weapons.

The four patched members of the Bandidos Outlaw Motorcycle Gang were taken into custody following search warrants at properties around Ballarat in western Victoria on Thursday, police said.

Some 47 illicit firearms were found and taken away, including 15 previously reported as stolen.

A Wendouree man, 27, Mount Pleasant man, 26, and Snake Valley man, 32, were charged with a string of firearms and drugs charges.

A Mount Pleasant man, 27, was released pending further inquiries.

Detective Senior Sergeant Matthew Kershaw said it was one of the largest firearms seizures in western Victoria and described the 3D printer set up as "extremely sophisticated".

"The idea that firearms can be manufactured on demand in this way is incredibly concerning. It is illegal to manufacture firearms without a licence, and that includes 3D-printed guns," he said.

“Those who are involved with manufacturing or possessing firearms can be certain of one thing - it’s only a matter of time before they are caught.”
