Melbourne City have signed Austrian midfielder Andreas Kuen as they attempt to return to contention in the A-League Men.
Kuen, 29, joins from Greek Super League club Atromitos, where he spent the past two seasons.
But most of his career was in his home country, where Kuen played between 2012 and 2022, most notably for Sturm Graz.
He made 100 appearances in the Austrian Bundesliga, scoring 10 goals and providing 22 assists.
Kuen has signed a two-year deal with an option for a third season.
"Iβve heard so many wonderful things about Australia and everyone here at the club has been very welcoming," he said.
βSince joining up with the squad, it is clear we have an exciting group with many talented young players.
"I am ready to bring my experience to the team, fight for the badge, and ultimately bring home more silverware for our fans."
A box-to-box midfielder, Kuen should complement defensive-minded Jimmy Jeggo, who also played in Austria, and help offset the loss of playmaker Tolgay Arslan.
He is a left-footer known for his workrate and strong passing range.

"His ability to control the game and create opportunities will be crucial for us this campaign."
City are attempting to bounce back from last season, when they finished sixth and were knocked out in the elimination final.
