Daytona 500 winner Austin Cindric will make a Supercars cameo in Adelaide, taking part in the season finale as a Tickford Racing wildcard.

Cindric shot to prominence in the 2022 NASCAR season, becoming the first ever rookie to win the iconic Daytona 500.

It was just his eighth start on the NASCAR Cup series.

This year's NASCAR circuit wraps up at Phoenix Raceway on November 2, with Cindric then shifting attention to the newly rebranded Adelaide Grand Final that runs from November 28-30.

"I've been a fan of the Supercars Championship since I was a kid," the 27-year-old said, having raced at Mount Panorama in the Bathurst 12 Hour when he was a teenager.

"I've always rated the drivers and teams in the category highly. So needless to say my interest has been high for an opportunity to test myself against the best.

"I'm grateful for the effort, hard work and support from Ford Performance, Tickford Racing, Supercars and the South Australian Motor Sport Board for bringing this project to life.

"I can't think of a better way to finish off a full year of racing than an adventure like this."

Ford Performance is backing the American's sojourn on the streets of Adelaide, with global director Mark Rushbrook spruiking the "cross-pollination of talent and machinery" as a win for everyone involved.

"We are particularly eager to see how Austin measures up against the formidable Supercars drivers on their home turf," Rushbrook said in a statement.
