AAP FACTCHECK - John Farnham and Kylie Minogue are being targeted by disinformation pages falsely claiming they plan to leave Australia if One Nation leader Pauline Hanson takes office.
Several Facebook accounts are sharing fake quotes attributed to the musicians alongside images generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
A Facebook post by an account called Life in Australia features a graphic including an image of Senator Hanson alongside a quote attributed to Farnham saying "IF SHE IS PM, I WON'T BE LIVING IN AUSTRALIA".
"After his position on the Voice referendum, I’m not sure anything he says will matter to many Australians," the post reads.
Farnham supported the 'yes' campaign in the 2023 Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum and allowed his song You're the Voice to be used in the campaign's advertising.
Facebook's transparency details show the Facebook account is managed by users in Sri Lanka, the UK and the US.
Another version of the post, using different imagery of Farnham and Senator Hanson, has also been shared widely on Facebook.
"Well then Johny boy, you can fk off back to where you came from then champ," one post sharing the graphic reads.
However, there's no evidence Farnham made this statement, and no credible reports attributing it to him.
The supposed quote closely resembles widely publicised comments made by Australian chef and restaurateur Neil Perry.
Perry told Empact News on June 11 (timestamp one minute 28 seconds) that he would leave Australia if Senator Hanson became prime minister.
"If she is (prime minister), I won't be living in Australia," Perry said.
Another Facebook post features a graphic attributing the same fake statement to Kylie Minogue.
The graphic was also later posted on X, attracting more than 20,000 views.
The X user adds a further claim that the singer purportedly "expressed her absolute disgust in Pauline Hanson".
Again, there's no evidence Minogue has publicly made this statement about the One Nation leader, and no credible reports about it.
