A driver who allegedly left the scene of a car crash that killed a tourist has been charged with multiple offences including manslaughter.
A 43-year-old man from Malaysia died in the highway collision between two cars and two motorcycles on Friday morning at Yolla in northwest Tasmania.
He was riding a motorcycle as part of a group of international tourists.
Another rider was taken to hospital with serious injuries but is expected to make a full recovery.
Police on Monday took a man into custody after a search spanning four days.
The man, a 52-year-old from the northwest town of Wynyard, was charged on Tuesday.
He is accused of manslaughter, causing the death of another person by negligent driving and causing grievous bodily harm by dangerous driving.
He has also been charged with causing grievous bodily harm to another person by negligent driving.
The man is expected to appear in Burnie Magistrates Court on Tuesday.
