Experimental art collective Marshmallow Laser Feast will launch a world premiere exhibition using digital art to illuminate the beauty of nature.

Works of Nature will be held at the Australian Centre for the Moving Image in Melbourne, marking the first major exhibition in Australia for the London-based collective.

It will feature five large-scale digital artworks including Evolver, narrated by actor Cate Blanchett, which follows the visual journey of breathing and connects the cosmos to the human body at a cellular level.

Another artwork called Distortions in Spacetime will represent a journey through space to the edge of a black hole.

"Our artistic practice is a constant journey of discovery into the world beyond the limits of human senses," said Ersin Han Ersin from the collective.

Marshmallow Laser Feast is led by artists and directors Robin McNicholas, Ersin Han Ersin and Barnaby Steel and has been shown at the Saatchi Gallery, Sundance Film Festival, and the V&A and Design Museum.

"Works of Nature is an unforgettable experience that can inspire us to work towards a better future," said ACMI director and chief executive Seb Chan.

Marshmallow Laser Feast: Works of Nature will show at ACMI from November 23 till April 14.
