Fake One Nation rally clips shared by disinformation page

The fake videos have been shared hundreds of times by users who appear to believe they are real. (AAP/Facebook)

What was claimed

Videos show crowds of people gathered around One Nation banners in Sydney Harbour and in fields.

Our verdict

False. The videos are AI generated.

AAP FACTCHECK - Widely shared social media videos purporting to show One Nation rallies are actually AI-generated fakes posted by a disinformation page.

The videos display clear signs they have been created using artificial intelligence (AI), including misspelt signs and landscapes that don't match the real locations.

A page called "Aussie Voice" is behind the posts, which have tens of thousands of views, with some users believing the videos are genuine.

"Thousands of proud Australians standing together for our country. Strong. United. Unstoppable," the caption of one video reads.

It purports to show helicopter footage of a One Nation rally in a field. However, it contains several telltale signs of AI generation, including a sign that reads “ONATION” rather than “ONE NATION”.

The video also features a Veo watermark, indicating it was generated using Google’s AI video-generation technology.

Another video claims to show “a bird's-eye view of unity”.

Again, it appears to show footage from a helicopter, with dozens of people gathered around a giant banner reading “ONEE NAATION”.

The Gemini logo appears in the bottom-right corner, indicating it was created using Google's AI tools.

Other videos claim to show helicopter footage of One Nation rallies in Sydney.

“One Nation, One People – A message of unity in the heart of Australia,” one caption reads, alongside a video supposedly showing a rally near the Sydney Opera House.

However, the foreshore shown in the clip is inconsistent with the actual location, and the video also features the Gemini logo.

Another video includes a similar caption and also purports to show a rally at the Opera House, but again, the foreshore does not match the actual location.

The Gemini logo is also visible in the bottom-right corner, and some in the crowd are inexplicably waving the Spanish national flag and what appear to be Croatian or Paraguayan flags.

As the video progresses, the text in a large One Nation banner gains an extra 'a' in the word 'nation'.

One Nation and party leader Pauline Hanson have been popular targets for disinformation pages on social media.

AAP FactCheck has previously debunked dozens of posts targeting the Senator and the party.
