Concerns are growing for a woman who has been missing in the Torres Strait for three days.

The 68-year-old Atherton Tablelands woman was last seen when a vessel overturned near Mabuiag Island on Thursday.

Emergency services and volunteers have conducted searches by helicopter and boat but have not found any trace of her.

An emergency beacon was activated while the vessel was about three nautical miles off the southeast end of the island at 2pm on Thursday.

A 34-year-old man and 22-year-old woman were rescued after spending 90 minutes in the water.

They were taken to Thursday Island Hospital for treatment and have since been released.

Police said they hold serious concerns for the missing woman's welfare.
