Former prime minister Scott Morrison has landed a book deal with a major international publisher.

Mr Morrison has declared on his MP interest register a "royalties advance from HarperCollins Christian Publishing".

There were no other details on the register update published on Friday.

Mr Morrison is expected to retire as the member for the Sydney seat of Cook before the next federal election due in 2025.

He was Australia's first Pentecostal prime minister, declaring the coalition's 2019 election win a miracle but went on to lose government at the 2022 poll.

HarperCollins Christian represents more than 2000 authors and the world's largest Bible translations.

The former Liberal leader has also registered his membership of the strategic advisory board for the Centre for a New American Security.

The centre said in a media release earlier this month Mr Morrison's "insights and expertise will strengthen the centre's research and work".
