A police probe into a dozen deliberately lit blazes in Queensland's Western Downs region has led to them issuing a description of the suspected fire bug and a distinctive ute.
Specialist arson detectives on Sunday released a composite image of a man wanted over the 12 fires in bushland near Tara and Wieambilla, west of Brisbane, from January to April this year.
The fires burned more than 4600 hectares of land and destroyed 14 homes, as well as several vehicles and other structures.
Several people were treated for smoke inhalation but no one was seriously injured.
The wanted man is described as being in his late 40s, 175cm tall with a proportionate build, and having fair complexion, grey hair and a beard.
An early 1990s model white Toyota Landcruiser ute was also observed near several of the fires, police said.
Detectives have released an image they believe is of the ute that shows a distinctive metal frame visible on its tray.
Anyone who recognises the man or vehicle is urged to come forward.
