A former resident of a popular NSW holiday park has been charged with sexually assaulting a number of young boys four decades ago.
The attacks allegedly happened at a holiday park in Wisemans Ferry in the Hawkesbury region, northwest of Sydney.
A 60-year-old man was arrested in Wisemans Ferry about 9am on Thursday.
He was charged with 22 child sexual assault offences and one count of common assault.
"Police have been told between the years 1982 and 1987, a resident of a holiday park allegedly sexually assaulted a number of young boys," NSW Police said in a statement on Sunday.
Detectives attached to Hawkesbury Police Area Command established Strike Force Twill in October to investigate the reports.
Police are appealing to anyone who holidayed in the area at that time and witnessed suspicious behaviour to contact them.
The man was refused bail and appeared at Penrith Local Court on Friday.
He is set to reappear on September 29.
