Kremlin negotiator Kirill Dmitriev has returned to the United States ahead of another round of Ukraine-Russia peace talks scheduled for Sunday in Abu Dhabi.
"Back in Miami," Dmitriev wrote on Instagram on Saturday, ending his post with a dove of peace emoji.
He did not provide further details.
In previous meetings, Dmitriev has negotiated with US envoy Steve Witkoff.
The talks in Abu Dhabi, which resumed last weekend after a long hiatus, aim to explore a possible end to the war.
Dmitriev, Russian President Vladimir Putin's special envoy, was headed for meetings with members of a US delegation in Miami at 8am local time, a source with knowledge of the visit told Reuters.
While both warring parties described the discussions as constructive, no agreement on a peace treaty has yet been reached.
A key sticking point remains Russia's demand that Ukraine withdraw from parts of its eastern Donbass region that is primarily focused on the provinces of Donetsk and Luhansk.
Russia claims the entire province of Donetsk, and controls just under 80 per cent of it.
Ukraine has so far refused to withdraw its forces voluntarily.
The neighbouring Luhansk province is almost completely controlled by Russian troops.
At the request of US President Donald Trump, Russia has agreed to temporarily pause attacks on energy infrastructure, citing extreme cold and extensive existing damage in Kyiv and other cities.
Strikes on other targets have continued.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Friday that the limited ceasefire will last only until Sunday and is intended to provide a "good basis" for the peace talks.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said there was no formal agreement on such a ceasefire but pledged that Ukraine would not attack Russian energy targets if Russia honoured its announcement.
Ukraine has been defending itself against Russia's full-scale invasion for nearly four years with support from its allies.
