A man charged over a deadly one-punch assault on a Gold Coast dad remains behind bars before he applies for bail next week.
Alexandar Ivan Rasic, 24, is charged with the unlawful striking causing death of Michael Hayes at Sanctuary Cove.
Mr Hayes died at Gold Coast University Hospital on Thursday morning, days after the incident outside Sanctuary Cove's Destino Wine and Cocktail Bar on Saturday night.
Mr Hayes had left the restaurant and was seen talking to a man, who shortly after struck his head, causing critical injuries.
Rasic was charged with unlawful striking causing death and did not appear in Maroochydore Magistrates Court on Friday.
He was remanded in custody for a bail application in Southport Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
Police have called for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage from the Sanctuary Cove and Hope Island areas between 9pm and 10pm on Saturday to come forward.
