Homicide detectives probe death in inner Melbourne

Homicide detectives are probing the death of a man who was found seriously injured at an apartment building in inner city Melbourne. 

Officers were called to the building on Drummond Street in Carlton about 11.45pm on Tuesday.

The Carlton man, 42, had life-threatening injuries and was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police say the exact circumstances surrounding the death are yet to be determined.

Part of the building has been taped off and a crime scene established as detectives investigate the incident.
