Police are working to track down dozens of women who were inappropriately touched at a Melbourne night club, as an accused groper faces court.

David Maria Anthony Rayan has been accused of touching 33 women at a Prahran nightclub, between September and October.

The 33-year-old has been charged with more than 70 sex offences for allegedly touching his victims without their consent on their bottoms, breasts and genitals, court documents revealed.

Rayan, who is a former PwC IT worker, is also accused of kissing some of his victims on the head and shoulders, and rubbing his groin against a woman's body.

Prosecutors compiling evidence against Rayan are combing through a "large amount" of video footage.

He faced Melbourne Magistrates Court on Friday for a brief hearing, where prosecutors asked for 12 weeks to compile evidence as they were combing through a "large amount" of video footage.

CCTV from the venue was being matched up with the Chapel Street nightclub's identification scanners to help locate all the victims, the police prosecutor said.

He said many of the victims had been identified from CCTV and contacted by police about the alleged offending.

Some were foreigners who had since returned home overseas and police will liaise with international authorities to get statements from them, he said.

"A large number of these people are not Australian citizens," the prosecutor told the court.

Magistrate Vincenzo Caltabiano agreed to give the prosecution three months to compile their brief of evidence.

Rayan remains on bail and will return to the court on May 10.
