Dean Vickerman's former right-hand man Jacob Chance has been announced as the new head coach of NBL side Melbourne United.
The 32-year-old most recently coached the Austin Spurs - the G League affiliate of NBA runners-up San Antonio - to the play-offs in his first season this year.
Prior to that, Chance spent two seasons as an assistant to long-time United coach Vickerman, who left in the off-season to join Japanese side Nagasaki Velca.

Monday's announcement of Chance's four-year deal comes after United missed out on their reported primary target Dave Joerger.
Former NBA coach Joeger is expected to join Paris Basketball as head coach, clearing the way for Chance's four-year deal.
"I’m looking forward to getting to work with a really good roster and help build the club over the next couple of years, hopefully winning a bunch of championships along the way," Chance said.

Chance has previously served as caretaker coach of the Australian national side, spent two years with the Tasmania JackJumpers and was on staff at the Perth Wildcats for four championship series wins.
His arrival comes as United welcome Australian basketball legend Joe Ingles back to the NBL for the first time since 2009.
United, runners-up in two of the last three seasons, now turns their attention to signing their import trio for the new season that begins in September.

A starting point guard appears a top priority given the departure of Tyson Walker, while the club's forward stocks could also use some reinforcement.
Chance and United staff will attend the NBA Summer League next month in a bid to fill out the club's roster.
Chris Goulding, Sam Waardenburg and Shea Ili are among the key locals already signed for the upcoming campaign.
