Torrential rains have flooded homes and roads in Greece and a man died after a wall collapsed in the bad weather.
Storm Daniel has battered western and central Greece since Monday, prompting hundreds of calls to emergency services to pump out water just days after a deadly wildfire which has burned for more than two weeks was brought under control in the north of the country.
"The man died after a wall collapsed near Volos city, probably due to bad weather," a fire brigade official told Reuters, without providing more details.
According to the Athens News Agency, the wall collapsed when the man, a cattle breeder, was trying to reach his animals.
Flooding was also reported in the villages of Agria, Portaria, Tsangarada and Stagiates, where electricity supply was unstable.
On Corfu, the storm disrupted power supplies and there were problems at the island's airport.
Thunder and lightning struck the islands of Skiathos, Skopelos and Alonnisos in the Sporades in the Aegean sea to the east of Greece, with hailstones devastating the pending olive harvest in the Elis region on the western Peloponnese.
Greece's weather service said the Pilion region was forecast to receive about 650-700mm of rain over Tuesday and Wednesday, while 550-600mm were forecast for the central Greek town of Karditsa.
The extreme weather comes after major wildfires in Greece, with some burning for more than two weeks and destroying vast tracts of forest and farmland. More than 20 people were killed in the fires.
In 2017, flash floods in Greece killed 25 people and left hundreds homeless.
