A man will be extradited to South Australia to face a murder charge after a man crashed a car into a power pole and later died from injuries related to an alleged assault.

Alan Kiplimo, 22, appeared in Perth Magistrates Court late on Friday, where an application to extradite him on an interstate warrant was granted.

Kiplimo, who is from Perth's northeastern suburbs, was arrested earlier in the day and did not attempt to apply for bail.

He will be remanded in custody overnight and flown to Adelaide on Saturday.

He is expected to be charged by SA police with murdering Caleb Leriano, 24, and face an Adelaide court at a later date.

“We are very pleased to have been able to share today’s developments with Caleb’s family,’’ Detective Inspector Andrew Macrae said.

Mr Leriano's red BMW sedan slammed into a power pole about 1.30am on Wednesday in Adelaide's southern suburbs, SA Police said.

He was found with life-threatening injuries that he suffered from an assault before the crash and died at the scene, police said.
