Superstars Megan Rapinoe and Alex Morgan will lead the American charge at the Women's World Cup, where they are gunning for an unprecedented third straight title.
US coach Vlatko Andonovski named the 23-strong squad in Chicago on Thursday morning (AEST), with nine previous winners heading to Australia and New Zealand.
Rapinoe and Morgan, the joint top scorers at the 2019 tournament, and Kelley O'Hara have been picked for a fourth World Cup.
There are also 14 first-timers, including uncapped bolter Savannah DeMelo, giving the world No.1s fresh energy for their title tilt.
Andonovski said Rapinoe, 37, would play a "different role" next month, suggesting fewer minutes after an injury-plagued lead-up, including a calf issue earlier this month.
"She certainly is going to have different types of minutes ... but from the leadership standpoint is so important," he said.
Reigning champions Alyssa Naeher, Julie Ertz, Crystal Dunn, Emily Sonnett, Lindsey Horan and Rose Lavelle have also made the cut.
Among the first time Cup attendees is US player of the year Sophia Smith, midfielder Kristie Mewis - better known to Australians as the partner of Matildas captain Sam Kerr - and DeMelo, the first uncapped American to be picked for a World Cup in 20 years.
Forward Alyssa Thompson is the youngest, at 18 years old.
Andonovski the sheer quality at his disposal meant a third straight title was an achievable aim.
"We think we have what it takes," he said.
Showing the star power of the four-time world and Olympic champions, a range of American dignitaries and celebrities, led by President Biden and first lady Jill Biden, were drafted in to help unveil the team.
"For nearly 40 years the US national soccer team have epitomised what it means to be a champion," President Biden said.
"From lifting trophies to fighting for gender equality, these women have been a source of inspiration for Americans of all ages. Our family included."
Pop icon Taylor Swift, basketballer Shaquille O'Neal, comedian Tina Fey, wrestler John Cena, surfer Kelly Slater and rappers Megan thee Stallion and Lil Wayne joined in the reveal.
The US are once again favourites to win the World Cup, as they have done in four of the eight previous tournaments.
The biggest absence is injured 216-cap legend and captain Becky Sauerbrunn, who suffered a foot injury on club duty.
"We're going to miss her off the field and we're going to miss her on the field," Anondovski said.
"We're very confident in the team we have ... we'll be able to overcome deficiencies that may occur with Becky's absence."
Andonovski said part of his confidence came from Ertz's return.
The 31-year-old has won selection for a third World Cup after an 18-month break to give birth to her first child in August 2022, joining Morgan and Dunn as the three mothers in the squad.
"We know she has the ability to play in defensive positions, we saw her in the 2015 World Cup playing as a centre-back," the coach said.
Despite the glittering announcement, the squad is not official until July 9, FIFA's deadline submission.
On that same day, the US face Wales in San Jose for their official send-off match.
The US faces Vietnam, Netherlands and Portugal in their group, and are favourites for the tournament.
