Records tumble after Fox's latest Olympic triumph

A crowd favourite, Jessica Fox celebrates with fans after winning her second gold medal in Paris. (Dean Lewins/AAP PHOTOS)

The Olympic achievements of Jessica Fox.

• Her sixth individual medal surpasses the five individual medals won by Ian Thorpe, Leisel Jones, Shirley Strickland, Shane Gould, Anna Meares and Ariarne Titmus, who joined this group in Paris.

• The most successful athlete in Olympic canoe slalom history with six medals (ahead of Slovakian Michal Martikan on five). Fox was already the most successful woman.

• A medal in the K1 was her fourth consecutive in that discipline - the only Australian to achieve four consecutive medals in the same individual event.

• Gold in the C1 sees her join a rare group of women to defend their Olympic title: Kaylee McKeown, Dawn Fraser, Shirley Strickland and Ariarne Titmus.

• An individual medal at a fourth Games matches Anna Meares, the only other Australian athlete to achieve this.
