Scans have confirmed Tom Trbojevic suffered a torn pectoral muscle when injured early in NSW's State of Origin II loss to Queensland.

Manly confirmed the suspected news on Thursday, adding only that their superstar fullback will see a specialist on Friday to learn more of the extent of the injury.

But the luckless Trbojevic appears set for another extended stint on the NRL sidelines, with torn pec injuries typically requiring months rather than weeks out of the game.

Trbojevic lasted just two minutes of Wednesday night's 32-6 loss at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane before suffering the injury when attempting to tackle Queensland fullback Reece Walsh as NSW scrambled in defence.
