A house fire sparked at a child's party has claimed a second life, after the birthday girl succumbed to her injuries in hospital overnight.

The child, identified as Jordan, had been fighting for her life after the blaze in a home at Rokeby on Hobart's eastern shore was sparked during her fifth birthday celebrations.

Her 22-month-old sister, Harlyn, did not survive the fire.

A 22-month-old girl has died in a house fire at Rokeby in Hobart on Sunday morning.

A 30-year-old person remains in a stable condition in the Royal Hobart Hospital and three other children have been discharged from hospital.

The fire on Sunday, which authorities believe began in the lounge room, is not being treated as suspicious.

Neighbours broke windows to try to get people out of the burning house, Tasmanian Fire Service deputy chief of operations Matt Lowe said.

“I’d like to thank the local community for their assistance, especially the neighbours who came to the aid of those affected," he said.

A fundraiser has been set up to help the victims' family with funeral costs.

There are no suspicious circumstances following the fatal fire in the Hobart suburb of Rokeby.

The weight of the tragedy had been felt by many, Mr Lowe said, and he sent his deepest condolences to the family.

“The scene and investigation have been traumatic and it’s had a significant impact on first responders who have done an incredible job under extreme circumstances," he said.

"They are commended for their actions and will be supported by our wellbeing support team.”

A report will be prepared for the coroner.
