Multiple rounds hav been fired at a home in what police are calling targeted drive by following a recent spike in high-profile public shootings.

Shots were fired into a house at Casula, in Sydney's south west at 2.20am on Saturday.

Though no one was home at the time and there were no reports of any injuries, the incident is believed to be targeted, according to NSW Police.

A black Audi was seen around the corner shortly after.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone in the area with footage has been urged to contact Liverpool Police.

There have been a number of high-profile public shootings in Sydney recently.

Plumber John Versace was shot dead in his driveway in May despite no signs he had links to criminal activity.

Less than a week after his death, two men were taken to hospital after a gunman sprayed a ute with bullets in Granville, and in October, former UFC fighter Suman Mokhtarian was gunned down while out for a walk.
