Australia's James Turner has won his sixth world title and exacted a small slice of revenge on day three of the Para Athletics Championships in Paris.
After suffering the first loss of his career in the 100m T36 at the Tokyo Games, the two-time Paralympic champion took out the 400m T36 on Tuesday in 52.26 seconds to keep his unbeaten record at the World Para Athletics Championships intact.
He beating trans-Tasman rival William Stedman (53.62) to bounce back and stamp his authority ahead of the 2024 Paralympic Games.
"It was my first loss and it was very difficult to take, but everyone has to have their first of everything," 27-year-old Turner said.
"I’ll take the good with the bad. It hurt for a few months but I managed to get back on the horse. My coach Iryna Dvoskina really helped me get through it.
“It was fun for the first 200m, but with 50 to go I was in a world of hurt. I still really enjoyed coming out here and giving it my all, it feels really good but I am looking to get another one."
West Australian training partners Rhiannon Clarke (12.91) and Ella Pardy (13.10) finished fourth and fifth in the 100m T38, with Clarke equalling her Oceania record and Pardy clocking her fastest time at a major championships.
"It feels amazing, I equalled my personal best and that’s all I can really ask for," 32-year-old Clarke said.
Dayna Crees enjoyed a fourth-place finish in the Javelin F34 on her international debut, throwing an Oceania record of 16.84m to fall just six-centimetres shy of a bronze medal.
Paralympic medallist Sarah Edmiston (35.11m) also came fourth in the discus F64.
Australia’s fastest para athlete Chad Perris (11.04) raced to an automatic berth in Wednesday's 100m T13 final, while teenage debutants Abbey Craswell (14.97) and Mali Lovell (15.17) also advanced to the 100m T36 final.
Australia’s wheelchair racers rounded out the day's action with Angela Ballard (1:57.23) finishing fourth in the 800m T53 and Rheed McCracken (51.51) placing eighth in the 400m T34 final.
Despite not advancing to the final of the 400m T54, Samuel Carter (47.23) recorded his season best and Luke Bailey (48.14) a personal best in the heats.
