Two teenagers have been arrested after a building fire in inner Melbourne.

Boys aged 13 and 15 from Little River and Safety Beach were taken into custody at Southern Cross Station on Friday as part of a police probe.

Investigators are still trying to establish what caused the blaze at an abandoned warehouse in Southbank after 4pm on Thursday.

It took fire crews about an hour to contain the fire at the Clarendon Street premises and no one was injured.

A Victoria Police arson chemist will continue examining the scene and investigators are presently not looking for anyone else.

Anyone with information is being urged to contact Crime Stoppers.
