Sydney Theatre Company hit The Picture of Dorian Gray is heading to London's West End, starring Australian actor Sarah Snook of Succession fame.

The one-woman show, which uses onstage cameras and screens to incorporate live and pre-recorded video, has played to rave reviews in Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide.

The London production will be Snook's first theatre role since playing Shiv Roy in the HBO television series Succession, which made her an international star.

While Shiv Roy had many facets, Dorian Gray will see Snook play no less than 26 characters in the adaptation of the Oscar Wilde tale.

“I am elated to return to the London stage in such an astonishing piece of theatre,” Snook said.

“From Oscar Wilde’s remarkable original text to Kip Williams’ stunning adaptation, this story of morality, innocence, narcissism and consequence is going to be thrilling to recreate for a new audience. I can’t wait.”

Snook's debut on the London stage was in Matthew Warchus’ 2016 production of The Master Builder opposite Ralph Fiennes.

The London season is the result of a first-look deal between Sydney Theatre Company and the production firm Michael Cassel Group.

The Picture of Dorian Gray will be staged at the Theatre Royal Haymarket from January 23.
