A man has been shot dead in what is suspected to be a targeted hit at a suburban home.

About 5.30pm on Thursday, a 42-year-old man was killed at Wollert, in Melbourne's north.

Emergency services found the man dead at a property following reports of gunshots on Gypsum Drive.

The victim, who police have yet to name, sustained injuries consistent with a shooting.

Homicide detectives remained at the scene on Friday, where police tape lines multiple streets as investigations continue.

Police are treating the incident as targeted, though no arrests have been made.

Footage posted to social media shows two people dressed in black sprinting from Gypsum Drive to a sedan on a neighbouring street.

A third figure emerges from nearby bushes after the car sped from the scene.

Shots were fired from one car into another in an unrelated shooting in Melbourne's west on Wednesday, but no injuries were reported.

Underworld figure Athan Boursinos was gunned down in a Wollert laneway in July 2025.

The 21-year-old, who was treated as a suspect in the high-profile shooting of former Mongols bikie Sam "The Punisher" Abdulrahim, is believed to have been ambushed by interstate hitmen.
