Richmond midfielder Ellie McKenzie will miss next Tuesday's AFLW clash with Port Adelaide after receiving a one-match suspension for a dangerous tackle.

McKenzie was suspended for executing a dump tackle on Carlton's Dayna Finn in Thursday's 33-point win over Carlton.

Although Finn was able to play out the game, the fact her head hit the ground in the tackle meant McKenzie would come under scrutiny.

The tackle was graded are careless conduct, medium impact and high contact, drawing a one-match ban.

Since opening their season with a shock one-point loss to West Coast, Richmond have beaten GWS, Sydney and Carlton to rocket into the top eight.
