Seven people are injured after a teenager's large ute mounted the pavement and skittled pedestrians in a popular high street in Sydney.
The Ford Ranger crashed head-on with a stationary rideshare vehicle near a bus stop in Burwood about 12.25am on Sunday, witnesses told police.
It then veered onto the footpath, hitting five pedestrians and crumpling a rubbish bin, before hitting a second parked car.
The rideshare car, a Toyota sedan, was accepting a fare at the time of the crash and had one passenger inside.
Three pedestrians suffering serious injuries were among six people taken to hospitals across Sydney, NSW Ambulance said.
The six, mostly aged in their 30s, were suffering a range of injuries including to their heads, chests and limbs but none were life-threatening.
NSW Police said a seventh person was also injured.
The driver of the Ford Ranger, a 19-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and questioned by police before being released without charge.
Investigations by the NSW Police Crash Investigation Unit are ongoing.
