A woman has died and a man is under police guard in hospital following an incident in Melbourne's southwest.
Emergency services were called to an address on Grevillia Court in Hoppers Crossing about 1.15pm on Thursday, following reports of a disturbance.
Police apprehended a man at the scene who was behaving erratically and he was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The woman was found unresponsive inside the property and she died at the scene.
She is yet to be formally identified but the pair are believed to be known to each other.
Homicide Squad detectives are investigating but they are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
