Woman found dead, man injured at five-star Crown Towers

A woman has been found dead at Crown Towers hotel in Perth and a man has been taken to hospital with serious self-inflicted injuries.

Homicide detectives are investigating the incident.

Emergency services were called to the five-star hotel and casino complex east of the Perth CBD on Monday about 11am.

"Police and emergency services were called to a room within the hotel, where a woman in her 30s was located deceased," West Australian police said.

"A male in his 40s was also located within the room, with serious self-inflicted injuries."

The man was taken into custody and paramedics transported him to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment.

Police believe the man and woman were known to each other.

Crown Resorts confirmed an incident had taken place at the hotel and casino near the Swan River.

"Our team is assisting West Australian police with their investigation and we are supporting our team members," a spokeswoman said.

The man remains in hospital in a stable condition.
