A British YouTuber and musician accused of violently raping a fan after a gig will give evidence in his defence.
Rapper Yung Filly is fighting accusations he bit, hit and choked a fan while forcing the 20-year-old to have sex in a Perth hotel room in September 2024.
His defence team confirmed late on Friday the performer, whose real name is Andres Felipe Valencia Barrientos, will take the stand when the trial resumes on Monday.
The trial was told on Friday the woman had repeatedly asked to enter the performer's VIP area at the nightclub where they met.
Bar1 owner Malcolm Pages said the woman approached him in person multiple times to gain access to the area where the entertainer could be seen before and after his show.
"She came down and asked me how she could get into the VIP," he told the West Australian District Court.
"As the night went on, there would have been another four or five times.
"My reply every time was, 'You have to wait until you're green-lit'."
Mr Pages said the woman then started sending direct messages to the club's Instagram account asking for access to the area.
"It was getting too much," he said.
Forensic tests did not link the entertainer to the woman.
"For all of the samples submitted, the presence of male DNA could not be determined," forensic scientist Daniel Turner said.
"It was either not present or at levels too low to be determined."
Mr Turner explained there were numerous reasons why a negative result could occur.
These included the passage of time between when the alleged incident occurred and when the sample was collected, and the absence of sex.
The court, which was packed with teenage fans of the rapper, was told the woman had MDMA, commonly known as ecstasy, in her blood sample.
Defence lawyer David Edwardson KC was scathing of the police investigation into the woman's allegations.
During a robust cross-examination of lead investigator Sergeant Melissa James, he asked why detectives had not interviewed an Uber driver who had driven the woman from Yung Filly's hotel after she was allegedly raped.
He also questioned why officers had not identified the person the woman could be seen and heard on hotel CCTV talking to on her phone after she left the rapper's hotel room.
"It wasn't our priority," Sgt James said, in reference to the Uber driver.
During a tense and protracted exchange, she said she believed the call had been made to one of the woman's relatives.
Mr Edwardson was also critical of investigators for failing to secure a statement from a member of Barrientos's entourage who was in the hotel room with the woman and musician immediately after the rape allegedly happened.
Prosecutors say the rapper turned violent while the pair were having consensual sex.
The woman allegedly suffered multiple injuries during the assault, including extensive bruising to her face and neck and a bite wound on her right breast.
The woman, who cannot be named for legal reasons, claims she was invited into a VIP area after the musician's set ended.
She told the court that once there, Barrientos put both his hands down her pants and touched her breast while the pair were talking.
She said he told her, "You're coming home with me tonight".
The trial continues.
