Boyle on song, but it's going wrong for Dons' Socceroos

Martin Boyle has scored his first goal of the Scottish league season, but his Hibernian side were left frustrated after being pegged back at Falkirk to draw 2-2.

There was nothing to savour at all for Aberdeen's two Socceroos, Nicolas Milanovic and Kusini Yengi, with the Dons rooted to the bottom of the Scottish Premiership after a 2-0 loss at Dundee United.

Boyle scored from the spot after 30 minutes and when Ireland's Jamie McGrath added a second in the 42nd it looked as if Hibs would consolidate third place.

But Ross McIver halved the deficit on the stroke of halftime, and a header from Liam Henderson earned the Bairns a point.

With three goals in the Europa Conference League for Boyle this season, the striker now has four in 12 appearances.

Ryan Strain's Dundee United replaced Hibs in third, though the defender, like Jack Iredale for Hibs, stayed on the bench against Aberdeen.

Yengi also began the night on the sidelines, but came on 67 minutes into the match at Tannadice. However, by then goals from Ivan Dolcek and Bert Esselink either side of the break had put United in firm control.

With one point and no goals from five league matches, the Aberdeen experience is yet to deliver what Milanovic and Yengi would have hoped for when they joined from Western Sydney and Portsmouth respectively.

Jimmy Thelin, the man who brought them to Pittodrie, may not be there much longer, visiting fans joining in with the home support in chanting "you're getting sacked in the morning" at him.
