Former Olympic champion Tom Green and Natalia Drobot have finished among the medals at the canoe sprint world championships in Poland.
Bringing Australia's tally to four for the titles after a gold and silver 24 hours earlier, Green and Drobot both claimed bronze medals in Poznan on Saturday.
Green, who won gold in the K2 at the Tokyo Olympics and bronze in Paris 2024, got on the podium in the men’s K1 1000m final.
He went toe-to-toe with Hungary’s Balint Kopasz and Portugal’s Fernando Pimenta from start to finish, with the latter clinching the gold medal.
“I’m proud…it was a good race and I’m happy with how I’m developing in that race,” Green said.
“There’s still a few things to polish off but at the end of the day I’m pretty happy with where I’ve come from and everything I’ve been putting into place."
Earlier, Drobot lined up in the women’s K1 500 final in testing weather conditions.
She crossed the line behind Germany’s Pauline Jagsch and New Zealand’s Aimee Fisher.
“It’s a really nice feeling to be able to come away with a medal,” Drobot said.
“They were definitely tricky conditions out there, but just being able to put together a really good race and come away with a medal is great.
“It shows the work that I’ve put in…not just me but the whole team. We’ve elevated our standards, and to be consistent and medal both years that I’ve competed here at senior world champs is really exciting,” she said.
One day of racing remains with six A-finals featuring Australians paddlers.
