Western Bulldogs midfielder Matt Kennedy has been slapped with a one-match AFL ban for his dangerous bump on Sydney's Caiden Cleary.

With Cleary bending forward to pick up a loose ball in Friday night's clash, Kennedy came steaming in and turned his body just before he made high contact with the Swans forward.

Cleary wasn't seriously hurt in the incident and was able to take his free kick, but the match review officer classified the bump as careless conduct, medium impact and high contact.

Unless the Swans are able to overturn the ban, Kennedy will miss next Sunday's clash with West Coast at Marvel Stadium.

Kennedy's teammate Will Lewis was fined for staging in the final quarter, while Jordan Croft can accept a $1000 fine for engaging in a wrestle.

West Coast veteran Elliot Yeo was fined for making careless contact with an umpire during Friday night's loss to Adelaide.
