Guns, drugs and cash have been seized and hundreds of charges laid as police target gangs trying to gain a foothold on the Sunshine Coast.

More than $250,000 worth of drugs were discovered by police during the nine-month operation in the popular Queensland region, along with 17 firearms and $90,000 in cash.

About 87 people have been arrested on 350 charges, with raids continuing this week and police expecting to lay more charges.

Police said they set up a task force to stop outlaw motorcycle gang (OMCG) members trying to establish chapters on the Sunshine Coast.

"Police and the local community have no tolerance for OMCG attempting to establish themselves in Queensland," police said in a statement.

"Any attempt to do so will be met with a significant response from police."

Police have executed 69 search warrants since March and seized weapons, cash and drugs including $184,000 worth of methamphetamine and $63,000 of cocaine.

"We are committed to ensuring outlaw motorcycle gangs have no place in the Sunshine Coast community or in Queensland," Detective Acting Inspector Scott Wiggins said.
