A seventh Liberal MP has resigned ahead of next year's NSW election.
Jordan Lane, the MP for Ryde who was first elected in 2023, announced his decision to resign in a social media post on Friday.
"I've made the difficult decision to step away from politics for a while," Mr Lane wrote, describing his time as a state MP, local councillor and Mayor of Ryde a privilege.
"It's been the honour of my life, and I am so grateful."
In his post, he shared a recommendation for his replacement, Ryde councillor and Humans of Eastwood creator Justin Li.
"I can assure you that he loves Ryde just as much as I do," Mr Lane wrote.
In a follow-up video, he said that his time in politics had taken its toll.
Mr Lane also introduced Mr Li in the video.
"I'd love the opportunity if we can continue doing politics differently," Mr Li said in the video.
Mr Lane was first elected to Ryde council in 2017 and served as mayor in 2022 before running for state parliament.

Liberal leader Kellie Sloane thanked Mr Lane for his service in a statement.
"Elected by a margin of just 54 votes, Jordan was one of the youngest members of our Liberal team to enter parliament in 2023 and has worked tirelessly to represent his community and ensure the voices of young Australians are heard," Ms Sloane said.
"On behalf of the NSW Liberal Party, I thank Jordan for his service to the NSW Parliament, the Liberal Party and, most importantly, the people of Ryde."
Mr Lane's decision to not seek re-election makes him the seventh NSW Liberal MP in three months to resign ahead of the state election.
Oatley MP Mark Coure announced his retirement from state politics on Tuesday, citing a desire to spend more time with his family.
Kellyville MP Ray Williams, Badgerys Creek MP Tanya Davies, Wahroonga MP Alister Henskens, Manly MP James Griffin and Winston Hills MP Mark Taylor have also announced their decision to not seek re-election.
All had already been preselected to run in the March election.
