Kennar's season-ending ban caps horror week at Souths

Richard Kennar's NRL season appears over with the South Sydney centre facing a three-match suspension for a high tackle on Wests Tigers rookie Luke Laulilii.

The ban caps a horror week for the Rabbitohs, who have had to contend with Latrell Mitchell's white powder scandal and an 18-16 loss to the last-placed Tigers in the past seven days.

If he enters an early guilty plea to his grade-two careless high tackle charge, repeat offender Kennar will miss the remaining three games of the 15th-placed Rabbitohs' season.

The 29-year-old could also sit out round one next year if he unsuccessfully challenges the charge at the judiciary.

Kennar's shot landed him in the sin bin during the first half at Campbelltown Stadium on Saturday night, with the Tigers scoring what proved the pivotal try only seconds later.

His suspension is the latest test for the South Sydney backline, which has been without the injured Campbell Graham all season and is also missing Alex Johnston and Isaiah Tass.

Tyrone Munro appears the likeliest man to come into the 17 after scoring two tries in NSW Cup on return from a collarbone injury on Saturday. Izaac Thompson is another option.
