A man who allegedly punched a female health worker and two patients in the emergency department of an inner-city hospital is set to face court.
Officers were called to a hospital at Camperdown, in Sydney's inner west about 5.30pm on Tuesday following reports a man had assaulted multiple people.
He allegedly approached a female health worker, aged 45, inside the Missenden Road hospital's emergency department before punching her to the head.
The man, aged 52, then allegedly punched a separate man and woman, both aged 65, while they awaited treatment.
The female health worker then restrained the assailant while waiting for security staff and police to arrive.
The man was arrested and taken to Newtown Police Station, where he was charged with two counts of common assault and one count of assault frontline health worker no actual bodily harm.
He was refused bail and is due to appear before Bail Division Court 6 on Wednesday.
