The Dolphins have been dealt a double blow with former State of Origin players Anthony Milford and Jarrod Wallace each set to miss three games after being charged following the 30-8 NRL loss to the Warriors.
And Gold Coast hooker Chris Randall faces a one-game suspension for a hip-drop tackle that forced Jai Arrow from the field with an ankle injury and threw the South Sydney forward's Origin Game II hopes into doubt.
The match review committee on Sunday cited Milford with grade-two dangerous contact for a late hit on Warriors winger Marcelo Montoya at Mt Smart Stadium and also deemed Wallace's shoulder charge on Rocco Berry a grade-two offence.
Both Montoya and Berry required head injury assessments for the shots, with the latter rubbed out for the remainder of the game and next week's clash against Canberra.
The Dolphins pair can accept three-match suspensions, ruling them out of clashes with Manly, Parramatta and Brisbane, but risk missing four games if they unsuccessfully plead their cases at the judiciary next week.
Randall's shot on Queensland Origin forward Arrow forced the Rabbitoh from the field in the first half of South Sydney's big win and left him on crutches.
As a first offence, Randall will miss only next week's clash against Wests Tigers, but he risks sitting out another game if he contests his case.
Milford's impending absence comes as he was working himself back into form with his new side.
After a quiet stint with Newcastle last year, Milford had his best game in recent memory as the Dolphins defeated St George Illawarra last week.
His suspension puts more pressure on a Dolphins side that will not welcome back first-choice halfback Sean O'Sullivan from his pectoral injury until round 17.
Origin star Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow's impending return was likely to push Kodi Nikorima out of fullback for next week anyway, but utility Nikorima is now all but certain to start in the halves alongside rookie Isaiya Katoa.
Wallace is the latest Dolphins forward sidelined; hooker Jeremy Marshall-King missed the Warriors game with a late shoulder injury, while Felise Kaufusi is still in the midst of his suspension.
Back-rower Tom Gilbert is also missing from the Dolphins' set-up after injuring his shoulder in the Origin series opener on Wednesday.
Wallace spent some time at dummy half in the Warriors game and if Marshall-King does not recover in time for the Sea Eagles clash, Ray Stone or Max Plath is likely to start there.
Wallace's shot came as the Warriors were attacking the Dolphins' line early in the first half but the middle forward was permitted to stay on the field. Milford was not so lucky in the second half.
Just after half-time, Milford chased his own kick down-field and closed in on Montoya, leading with his shoulder to take the winger out after he had passed the ball.
Wayne Bennett's side was down 6-4 when Milford was dismissed but trailed 18-4 by the time he returned and never looked likely to seize the lead.
