A second teenage boy has been arrested and charged after a teen and a man were stabbed during a brawl at a suburban shopping centre.

A 16-year-old boy and a 20-year-old man were rushed to hospital after they were injured during a fight between four people at the Elizabeth City Centre in Adelaide's north on Friday.

The teenager was taken to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with life-threatening injuries after he was stabbed in the leg, while the man was transported to hospital in a stable condition with an abdominal injury.

Police arrived on the scene after a fight broke out about 2pm, sending the shopping centre into lockdown.

They arrested and charged a 16-year-old boy from Elizabeth Downs with two counts of causing serious harm to another and affray.

Officers on Friday night arrested a 17-year-old boy at a home in Craigmore and charged him with aggravated assault and affray.

The weapon involved has been recovered.

Both boys have been refused bail and are expected to appear before the Youth Court on Monday.

Police quickly confirmed the incident was not a random attack nor was it a terrorist attack.

“Police will continue regular patrols in the Northern District including in and around shopping centres," Inspector Michael Ralph said on Saturday.

A distressing video of the incident shared by 7News showed a young man bleeding from a leg wound in a mall crowded with Black Friday shoppers before it was evacuated and businesses closed.

Another young man appeared to try to support his friend, only to slip in a pool of blood.
