Evergreen Warriors playmaker Shaun Johnson has extended his second coming at the club by inking a one-year contract extension.
Johnson, 32, played his 200th NRL game last week and had received offers to return to Australia.
But the New Zealand international has opted to stay in Auckland, where has has blossomed under the coaching of first-year coach Andrew Webster.
Johnson is rolling back the years for the Warriors as they hunt a top-four finish, the halfback having scored 136 points and registered 16 try assists this season.
“His leadership and ambition to get better has been the driving factor in his and our success this season," Webster said.
“He has gone to a completely new level. He had a brilliant offseason and hasn’t slowed down since.
“Everyone can see how happy he is being back home in Auckland and around the club he loves so much."
The Warriors will have one of the NRL's most impressive playmaking stocks next year with Te Maire Martin, Luke Metcalf, Chanel Harris-Tavita and Johnson all on the books.
Meanwhile, Manly have secured the services of prop Taniela Paseka until the end of 2026.
Paseka has been one of the Sea Eagles' best this year, thriving off the responsibility of being a starting prop.
