Australia's reigning world surfing champion Molly Picklum has won a tough heat to reach the quarter-finals at the Philippines Pro and continue her late-season momentum.
Coming off her win in Portugal, the world No.1 broke a board in her round-one match-up on Sunday with local trials winner Mara Lopez.
In her first visit to the Cloud 9 break at Siargao, Picklum eventually put up an 11.50 total as Lopez could not capitalise on her opportunities and scored 4.50.
Picklum's quarter-final opponent will be compatriot Isabella Nichols, who beat American Lake Petersen. Nichols is back competing after an ankle injury meant she had to pull out of the final last month at the Fiji Pro.

Hawaii's five-time world champion Carissa Moore had a keenly anticipated heat against Australian wildcard entry Sienna Kerr that lived up to expectations.
Moore eventually snared a 9.00 wave score - the highest of the event so far - to dispatch Kerr 14.33 to 6.07.
Australia's two-time world champion Tyler Wright beat Canadian young gun Erin Brooks to set up a quarter-final against Spaniard Nadia Erostarbe.
Local wildcard John Mark Tokong lit up the men's first round with the highest heat score of the event so far, beating Brazilian Samuel Pupo 16.60 to 11.00.
Tokong's next opponent will be world No.7 Ethan Ewing, Australia's highest-ranked competitor among the men, whose opening heat at Cloud 9 will be in the second round.
Australians Jack Robinson, Liam O'Brien and George Pittar also won their round-one heats. Robinson then took his round-two heat against Brazilian Miguel Pupo to reach only his second quarter-final this season.
Robinson's next opponent will be Hawaiian Seth Moniz.
